Providing water for Novovorontsovka, Ukraine
Pocatello’s generous donations for the Ukrainian Festival in February 2025 provided the funds for powering three wells in Novovorontsovka, Ukraine. Within a month, this community will have fresh, running water for the first time in two years!

“After the flood caused by the destruction of the Kahovka dam by Russian bombs, Novovorontsovka and many other settlements and villages lost their water towers and consequently water sources.
“Novovorontsovka, a Ukrainian town in Kherson region that lost its infrastructure within the first month of the Russian invasion. To make things worse, Russians bombed Kahovka dam causing major flood that forced around 40,000 to evacuate.
“Multiple towns and villages lost power and running water.
“People living there haven’t had running water since then (over 2 years).”
People of Novovorontsovka, Ukraine, who will now have clean water, thanks to the donations from people in Pocatello.
The funds from the Ukrainian Festival in February 2025 were used to buy solar panels to power wells for the people of Novovorontsovka to be able to drink fresh water again.
